2014, Warsaw. This is where Balagan was born. It all began with a simple idea of creating high-quality, timeless products, fueled by the enthusiasm of two designer friends. Together with the expertise and craftsmanship of a shoemaker, the first Opera shoes and Rofe bag were created. To this day, both designs remain bestsellers, which fills us with pride and serves as undeniable proof that timeless style never goes out of fashion.

From the very beginning, we have prioritized transparency and operated according to ethical principles. All of our products are crafted locally in Poland, in small, specialized workshops. We work to preserve the future of this disappearing craft, honoring the skilled hands behind every item. Each of our products is made by experienced shoemakers, who pay attention to even the smallest details. When you shop at Balagan, you know exactly what goes into the cost of our products, as we disclose the expenses of running our business. We also believe in giving back—1% of our profit margin is donated to foundations that work to improve the quality of life for others.

Our campaigns, photographed around the world, reflect our style – effortless elegance, understated charm, and inspirations drawn from modernist architecture, contemporary trends, and the vintage wardrobes of our mothers.
OUR TEAM
Relationships and partnership are important to us. Over the past 10 years, our team has grown to nearly 50 people, along with many collaborators. We mainly work within a female-led team across design and collection development, sales, communications, customer service, accounting, and in our boutiques. We collaborate closely with artisans in local workshops. Balagan is made up of all these dedicated individuals who care for every aspect of the brand with passion and commitment.
