Balagan Loves Creatives X Zuza Zasacka

Zuza Zasacka is the new guest of our series Balagan Loves Creatives! She has an art history major and is an educator interested in everything connected to culture, especially the arts, for example working with Zachęta and Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw on children’s workshops. Zuza isn’t very fond of the word creativity as she found it’s starting to become a cliché. For her, the most important part of creating is being opened to freedom and unconventional ideas.

Zuza's Balagan choices is: Opera Shoes

One of the challenges she found herself facing in work was the uncertain situation in March, which was especially unusual for cultural institutions, but she still managed to take something positive out of it: ‘It was, or even still is an odd, but also interesting time for culture. Cultural institutions were organizing a lot of online events, which created a possibility to visit Museums like Zachęta or Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw by those who have never been there before. I believe the useful solutions we came up with will stay with us for longer.’

Zuza emphasizes how art is the space of freedom and it’s important for her that the visitors can understand and connect with the exhibitions. Especially children and teenagers as she creates workshops for them based on difficult social issues. She likes unconventional ideas. From Balagan, Zuza chose our Opera ballet flats: ‘I don’t own a lot of bags or shoes, so I like them to be well made and functional. I love the red Operas so much I bought the same pair twice; I think they’re absolutely timeless’.
